Façade Design
The façade is 34 feet tall and about 150 feet long, comprised of 180 custom kiln-cast and heat curved glass panels. Each textured kiln-cast panel is slump-curved into different shapes that are concave or convex or both. The panels are assembled to create a continuous curvature that resembles a glass curtain to achieve an overall quality of softness and movement along with added aspect of privacy.
The process of design was similar to the one developed in the Lincoln Square Synagogue, where a fully detailed Catia model was developed in order to facilitate the design and the fabrication of the system.
