PEDAGOGY

The pedagogy represented in the studios and seminars taught focuses on the relationship between architectural education and the challenges of the reality of the built environment.
The extensive focus on construction methodologies, detail development  and facade design, integrates  technical knowledge and real conditions case studies.
Collaborations with industry professionals in each course engages the uses of advanced technologies in today's construction and facade industry.  This gives students an exceptional opportunity to be exposed to some of the worlds most interesting and advanced technologies and thinking methodologies.

FAÇADES

Facades are some of the most technically challenging parts of a building as they define the urban architectural quality, street experience as well as energy efficiency, performance, sustainability among many other factors.
One of the main points through out teaching studios and seminars, is for students to understand the implications of design for the facades, not only from an aesthetic point of view but also from a technical, construction and fabrication aspect.
It is very important to teach students  beyond the basic knowledge of fabrication techniques and to truly understand the aspects that are key to making a façade from its conception to manufacturing, while  also learning the importance of sustainability and construction challenges.

TECH TALKS

A series of conversations, discussions and lectures created at Syracuse University, as an interactive and learning experience between students, professors and leading industry professionals.

The TECH TALKS started at Syracuse School of Architecture are revived through CTBUH and through a series ongoing symposiums where architects, builders and fabricators are able to discuss the challenges that each encounters in the building industry, and methods of improving communication and efficiency in construction and design.
